LTe Bosch system and battery

What is the range of the LTe battery?

The LTe has an 800Wh battery. Range depends on rider and bike weight, terrain, gradient, support mode, temperature, and more. The range reading on the LTe display gives the best estimate for your ride.

How long does the LTe battery take to charge?

With the supplied Bosch 4A charger, a fully drained 800Wh PowerTube battery takes about 6.9 hours to fully charge. The battery ships partly charged, so charge it fully before your first ride. Only use certified Bosch chargers.

Can I run a different size battery in the LTe?

Yes. The LTe fits the Bosch PowerTube 600Wh or 800Wh battery. Only use approved Bosch batteries.

How do I get a spare battery for the LTe?

Buy a spare Bosch battery from any authorized Bosch retailer. The battery end caps needed to mount it in the LTe frame are available on the Yeti webstore or from your local Yeti dealer.

Can the LTe be used with a Bosch PowerMore range extender?

It depends on frame size and shock. Size SM never fits the Bosch PowerMore 250.

  • LTe with a Fox Float X shock: PowerMore fits sizes MD to XL in all shock rate positions.
  • LTe with a Fox Float X2 shock: PowerMore fits sizes LG and XL in all rate positions. Size MD can fit with the Yeti Range Extender Mounting Bracket for Medium (part 300040747), mounted with the Yeti water bottle fasteners and washers.
  • Other shocks: a physical clearance check is required.

Mount the PowerMore only on the guide rails that come with the PowerMore battery, not on a standard bottle cage. Yeti recommends the 200mm Bosch cable (EB1212008H) to connect the PowerMore to the charge port on the lower non-drive side of the down tube. The water bottle adaptor cage that comes with the PowerMore does not fit the LTe.

Can I ride the LTe without a battery?

Yes. Secure the loose battery connections and fit the lower down tube guard when the battery is removed.

What do I do if my LTe loses power while riding?

You can still pedal the LTe without motor assist. If the power loss was not from a drained battery, turn the system off and back on. If the problem continues, contact Yeti Cycles support. The LTe system also shuts off on its own after 30 minutes without moving.

What if I get an error code on my LTe?

Look up the error code in the Bosch eBike Help Center, which has troubleshooting steps for each code.

How do I connect my phone to the LTe's Bosch system?

Turn the LTe system on and connect with the Bosch eBike Flow app right away. If you do not connect shortly after power-on, the Bluetooth connection times out and you need to restart the bike.

How do I update the LTe firmware?

Update the LTe's Bosch system through the Bosch eBike Flow app, which has step-by-step instructions. Yeti recommends checking for updates monthly.

Are the LTe electronics waterproof?

The Bosch system is water-resistant and the LTe frame is designed to drain water. Do not submerge the bike or spray the electronics or bearings directly, and do not power wash.

Can I service the LTe's electrical parts myself?

No. Any part of the Bosch system should only be serviced by a certified mechanic. Take all Bosch-related service to an authorized Yeti dealer.

Where do I get my LTe serviced?

Any authorized Yeti Cycles dealer can service the LTe. Use the Yeti dealer locator to find the nearest one.

Can I take my LTe on a plane?

Usually not with the battery. The LTe's 800Wh battery is typically larger than airlines allow. Check your airline's and local regulations before you fly.

How do I recycle or dispose of my LTe battery?

Do not put the LTe battery in household trash. In the US and Canada, recycle it through Call2Recycle: return it to the shop where you bought the bike or any certified drop-off site (use the Call2Recycle locator and select E-Bike Battery). Outside the US and Canada, follow your local e-bike battery recycling rules. Your Yeti dealer can also help.

Why is my dealer charging a battery recycling fee?

US and Canadian dealers charge a recycling fee when you buy an e-bike: $15 in the US, and $5 to $15 CAD in Canada depending on the province. The fee funds the e-bike battery recycling program run by PeopleForBikes and Call2Recycle, which recycles end-of-life batteries.

LTe adjustments and compatibility

Why would I adjust the leverage rate on the LTe?

The LTe comes with two leverage rate chip sets: 30%, and a 25/35% set. The stock 30% setting is the best place to start. Rearward chip positions are more progressive and forward positions are less progressive. Experiment to find what suits your riding style and terrain. The Yeti shock setup page has more about leverage rates, and the LTe owner's manual explains how to change the chips.

Can I run the LTe as a mullet (27.5" rear wheel)?

Yes. The LTe has a flip chip at the seat stay and rocker connection for a 29" or 27.5" rear wheel, and the geometry stays the same in both positions. The LTe owner's manual has the setup steps.

Can I use an angle-adjust or reach-adjust headset on the LTe?

Yes. The LTe uses a ZS44/ZS56 zero stack headset and fits aftermarket angle-adjust headsets up to +1 or -1 degree and reach-adjust headsets up to +5 or -5mm. Adjustable headsets are not included. Any adjustment beyond these limits is not approved and voids the warranty.

What headset and top cap does the LTe use?

The LTe uses a ZS44/ZS56 tapered headset. The LTe is tested to stricter standards that need a thicker head tube, so it uses a custom 53.5mm top cap.

What travel fork is the LTe designed to use? Can I run a dual crown?

The LTe is designed for a 170mm travel fork. Yeti tested the LTe frame to 20mm over the spec fork, so you can run up to a 190mm fork, including a dual crown fork. The maximum axle-to-crown measurement is 607mm. A longer fork slackens the head and seat tube angles and raises the bottom bracket; a shorter fork does the opposite.

What size seat post and seat collar does the LTe use?

The LTe uses a 31.6mm seat post and a 36.4mm seat collar.

What is the longest travel dropper post I can run on the LTe?

The longest LTe dropper post depends mostly on your inseam. The LTe has an uninterrupted seat tube, so you can run any travel as long as the post is above its minimum insertion mark, your tire does not rub your saddle, and the dropper does not bottom out in the frame. The LTe owner's manual lists maximum insertion depth and minimum saddle height by size.

What cranks can I use on the LTe?

The Bosch CX drive unit replaces the bottom bracket, and the crank spindle is built into the drive unit. Use any crank arms compatible with the Bosch CX BDU38.

What chainring and chainline does the LTe use?

The LTe was designed around a 55mm Boost chainline and only accepts a 34T round chainring.

Does the LTe have ISCG mounts?

No. The LTe has a custom top chain guide for chain security instead of ISCG mounts.

What rear wheel axle fits on my LTe?

The LTe works only with SRAM's Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH) axle at 12 x 148mm spacing. The axle is 172mm long with an M12 x 1.0 thread pitch.

How big a rear rotor fits on the LTe?

The LTe runs a 180mm rear rotor without a brake adaptor. With a brake adaptor, the LTe fits up to a 220mm rear rotor.

How big a tire can I fit on the LTe?

The LTe fits tires up to 2.6" wide. Actual tire sizes vary by manufacturer, so clearance can differ between brands.

Can I fit a water bottle inside the LTe front triangle?

Yes. LTe sizes MD to XL fit a standard water bottle inside the front triangle with a piggyback shock. Size SM only fits Yeti's 15oz Hot Lap bottle. A side-entry cage gives the easiest access. The Bosch PowerMore water bottle adaptor cage does not fit the LTe.

Does the LTe accommodate a tracking device?

Yes. The upper battery end cap holds an Apple AirTag or Tile Sticker (2020 or 2022 model). The LTe owner's manual has installation steps.

LTe suspension setup

What shock and shock hardware does the LTe use?

The LTe uses a 205 x 65mm trunnion-mount rear shock, with a trunnion mount at the top and M8 x 40mm hardware at the bottom, where the leverage rate chips sit. Some shocks can be locked out, but Yeti recommends running the shock fully open for the best compliance and traction.

Can I put a coil shock on the LTe?

Yes. The LTe works with both air and coil shocks. With a coil shock, Yeti suggests a higher leverage rate chip setting, because coil shocks usually work best at higher leverage rates.

What sag should I run on the LTe?

Start the LTe at 30% sag, which is 19.5mm of shock stroke. Set sag at your normal riding weight with your gear on. You can go slightly above or below 30% to suit your preference. The Yeti shock setup calculator gives starting settings for your shock.

What is Sixfinity and does it need maintenance?

Sixfinity is the LTe's patented 6-bar suspension platform, tuned for the extra weight of a drive unit and battery; the Yeti Sixfinity page explains how it works. Sixfinity uses links on fully sealed bearings. Check the whole bike monthly for loose bolts, including the Sixfinity links, and clean the pivots with a rag without lubricating them. Bearing service intervals depend on conditions and how often you ride.

LTe parts, upgrades, and warranty

Can I upgrade the components on my LTe?

Yes. Many aftermarket parts fit the LTe, and parts from major brands like Fox, Shimano, and SRAM are largely standardized. Have a professional mechanic confirm each part matches the LTe's standards and mounts securely without interference or play.

Can I replace or modify Yeti frame parts on my LTe?

Use only genuine Yeti replacement frame parts on the LTe, from your local Yeti dealer or the Yeti webstore. If any LTe frame part is modified or replaced with a non-Yeti part, all warranties are void and the customer assumes all liability.

What is the warranty on the LTe?

The LTe frame has a lifetime manufacturer's warranty against defects for the original purchaser from an authorized Yeti Cycles dealer. Paint and finish are covered for 1 year. Yeti will repair or replace, at its discretion, any frame it finds defective. To use the warranty, register your bike online at yeticycles.com and take it to an authorized Yeti Cycles dealer for processing. The warranty does not cover ordinary wear and tear, neglect, or intentional damage. Bosch drive unit, battery, and display warranty is handled under Bosch's component warranty through your dealer. See the Yeti Cycles Warranty for full terms.
