Switch Infinity is our patented suspension system, designed to provide an efficient yet plush ride. It works by utilizing a translating pivot that changes direction as the bike moves through its travel.
How It Works:
Translating Pivot: Instead of a fixed pivot, we use a sliding mechanism with two small Kashima-coated rails and bushings (developed in collaboration with Fox). This pivot moves vertically up and down as the rear triangle compresses.
Pedaling Efficiency: In the beginning stroke (small bumps and pedaling zones), the pivot moves upward, creating an optimal anti-squat to keep pedaling efficient and reduce bobbing.
This means the bike remains responsive when you’re hammering on the pedals, especially in climbs.
Plush Mid-Stroke and Bottom-Out Control: As the bike moves deeper into travel, the pivot direction reverses (moving downward), reducing anti-squat and allowing for a more active suspension feel. This transition makes the suspension feel plush and bottomless in rough terrain, providing better traction and bump absorption.
Why It’s Unique:
It offers the best of both worlds: responsive pedaling efficiency when you need it and a plush, progressive feel when hitting bigger hits or rough trails.
Real-World Benefits:
- Better climbing traction without excessive suspension movement.
- More supple and active feel on descents without sacrificing efficiency.
- Minimal maintenance due to the durable Kashima-coated rails.
